Houston Raccoons 832-220-5048
Raccoons are famous for raiding outside garbage cans. They love eating just about anything they can get there hands on. Raccoons are the number one wildlife that we are called to control. Raccoons usually take up residence in attics, crawl spaces, sheds, under hot tubs, chimneys and basements of homes and businesses. Just about any sheltered area will do for your local raccoon mother raising a family. Raccoon control should begin as soon as the animal has been found out. The sooner you get the animal out, the less damage and odor it will cause. In Texas we have discovered raccoons as large as 50 pounds.
Most people do not realize that raccoons thrive in urban and suburban areas. Raccoons are actually more common in the city versus the forest. The reason for this infestation is food. They steal pet food, they raid the garbage cans and some people even feed them. They are a very intelligent, curious and fearless animal. With its strength, they will rip off the tiles of roofs and the siding of houses in order to get in. So besides having to get the animal out of your house there is usually handyman work to do after the fact. The female raccoon is notorious for breaking into attics to raise their young. They will live in chimneys, break into screened in pool areas or use doggy doors when they smell the dog food. We feel for these creatures, so we remove them humanely.
Our methods for removing raccoons is live trapping. We often times will place a live trap next to the entry way and bait it. After we catch them, we ensure that they will never return. We will release them as far away as possible, usually about 10 to 20 miles away. Even though this works, this is not the most humane way to take care of a raccoon. Once relocated, they may not survive since they are in an unknown habitat with no shelter and not familiar with where the food may be.
Once the Raccoon is evicted from the premises, be sure to have any and all holes or gaps sealed tight. Chimney caps installed or fixed, and any latrines cleaned up and bad odors sanitized. Raccoons usually always carry fleas, so a general pest treatment or dusting of the attic would be advised. Never try to handle raccoons by yourselves. They can carry rabies and they will bite and scratch if threatened. Just leave the Raccoon removal up to us. We specialize in safe and humane Texas wildlife control.
